After a crazy, insane day yesterday and a book signing last night that kept me out until ten, I finally have to time to share my GREAT NEWS!
My children's novel, Lizzie and the Guernsey Gang, won the Selah Award!!!
It competed in the YA (young adult) category. The results were announced at the annual Blue Ridge Mountain Christian Writer's Conference Wednesday night. Diana Sharples, the dear author/mentor who was instrumental in helping make "Lizzie" what it is today, was present at the banquet and able to accept the award for me. Thanks, Diana!! A more perfect person for the job couldn't have been picked.
I'm honored, humbled, and grateful to God for this literary award as well as for the opportunity he gave me to share Ruth's amazing story. All glory to Him!!
I pray this small success helps get the books into the hands of more children, so they can learn what it means to trust their loving Creator, Provider, and Savior.
